Garway Community Centre CIO

A public meeting, of the members of Garway Community Association CIO, was held at Garway Community Centre on 22nd September 2022 with a resolution to change from a CIO Association model to a CIO Foundation model.

The members voted in favour of changing to a CIO Foundation model.

At the Garway Community Association CIO Trustees meeting on the 27th October 2022 a resolution to change the name from Garway Community Association CIO to Garway Community Centre CIO was passed unanimously.

The change of name to Garway Community Centre CIO, a Foundation Model CIO, was approved by the Charities Commission on the 26th February 2023 (Registered Charity Number 1184864).

Garway Community Association CIO

A public meeting was held at Garway Community Centre on 24th January 2019 at 7.30 pm

The meeting voted in favour of forming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) named the Garway Community Association.

The public meeting then elected the first trustees to serve on the Garway Community Association CIO. The inaugural meeting of the Garway Community Association CIO then took place and honorary officers were elected. The trustees, honorary officers and contact details for the Garway Community Association can be found here

The Garway Community Association CIO was registered with the Charity Commission on 12th August 2019 (Registered Charity Number 1184864). Following this registration of the CIO the sale of the Old Village Hall will be progressed. The assets of the charity, including the Community Centre, will then be legally transferred to the CIO following the resolution of any outstanding financial issues. This transfer of assets will take some time and be undertaken by the Garway Village Hall Charity solicitor.
