Garway Heritage Group

…is a friendly and informal group that promotes interest in local heritage including the area’s crafts and traditions and its natural and physical environment.

The village of Garway and its surrounding area have a long and fascinating history. Worked flints from the Stone Age have been found, and an Iron Age enclosure was recently excavated on Garway Hill. Monasticism reached Garway in the 6th century and St Michael’s Church dates from the 12th century, one of the few remaining Templar churches.
